Beth Gillette, Secretary & Executive Director

Vision inspired and mission driven, Beth Gillette is a nonprofit management professional experienced in organizational management, board development, and fundraising. She has expertise in strategic and development planning, major gifts, grant writing, corporate
sponsorship, membership, and major special events.

Starting out in life as a military brat whose father was frequently on the move, Beth finally landed in Las Vegas and has called it home since 1977. She began her professional career as a loan officer in banking in 1985. In 1993, with a toddler son to nurture, she began to ask herself, “What kind of world will my son grow up in and have to look forward to? “How can I best influence it?”

A short time later, a contact at the Southwest Gas Corporation asked Ms. Gillette to assist
them in introducing to Las Vegas a national volunteer-based home rehabilitation program for low-income seniors. Beth was captivated by this “old-fashioned community barn-raising” concept. She accepted the challenge and co-founded what is now known as Rebuilding Together – Las Vegas. She achieved her nonprofit management certification from UNLV while serving as the organization’s Executive Director and successfully directed 145 home rehabilitation projects for low-income, elderly, and disabled homeowners to include
the annual recruitment of nearly 2,000 professional and corporate volunteers.

Beth went on to raise money for ballet and supported the development and promotion of some key major Las Vegas events to promote tourism including the first firework displays on the Las Vegas Strip. She also managed a major collaboration within the business community to promote clean energy and build a more sustainable community. After being charged with the fundraising efforts for a major local museum and nature preserve she and her husband, Jim, realized a lifelong dream by starting a small business of their own.

In addition to nonprofit consulting and her involvement with various local “green” initiatives, Beth was a long-time member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She’s maintained an active personal interest in the learning and sharing of natural health and wellness best practices, and in the promotion and development of more holistic sustainable communities.
